Chris Brown sentenced to time served after pleaded guilty

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) — A D.C. Superior court judge sentenced R&B singer Chris Brown to time served after the star pleaded guilty to simple assault steming from an incident at the W Hotel in October, WUSA9's Bruce Leshan reports.

Brown is released following today's proceedings.

Brown and his bodyguard Christopher Hollosy are accused of punching Parker Adams outside the W Hotel in October.

Adams says Brown hit him after he tried to get in a photograph with the singer.
Brown had rejected plea deal offers until today.

Brown spent several months in jail in California this year after a judge ruled that Brown had violated his probation stemming from the 2009 assault case involving former girlfriend and singer Rihanna.

He will be at court following Tuesday's.
