President Obama plan to put faces of women on U.S. currency

The President raised the idea during an appearance Wednesday in Kansas City, saying he received a note from a young girl asking why women did not appear on U.S. dollar bills and coins.

Martha Washington was the only woman to appear on a U.S. currency note, and that was in the 1800s.

Greenbacks soon might have a more feminine look.

As regarding to a note Obama received from a young girl,President Obama on Wednesday said it is time to begin putting the faces of women on U.S. paper currency.

The young girl also gave to president Obama a long list of possible women to put on our dollar bills and quarters and stuff, which Obama thought was a pretty good idea.

Dollar coins featuring Native American guide Sacagawea and suffragist Susan B. Anthony still turn up in change, but they are no longer being minted.

Websites had a field day with the possibilities, suggesting everyone from Oprah to Martha Stewart.
